In March 2013, it was decided that we needed a 24-hour server our community could call home. We thought about loading a brand new map but eventually decided to go with the existing world since it already had things in place to help, like a safe house near spawn (that eventually became the command tower), a farm, and a hotel for temporary stays while players found a plot to begin building. Hence the Some Awesome Minecraft Server was born.
